What it does

Jetwriter AI is a writing assistant available through a browser extension and a companion web app. It helps people draft email replies and messages, fix grammar, translate, summarize and revise selected text. The extension can work with the page a person is reading, while chat supports document attachments and live web access. Users can save prompts, set writing styles and choose between models from different providers. Gmail features include learning from past emails and automatically preparing replies, with behavior controlled in settings.

The product was previously called ChatGPT Writer; its September 2025 rename retained the same core product and team. It is useful for people handling correspondence, support messages and document-based writing. Install the extension or open the web app, then select text, open the assistant or use the relevant site integration. A free plan includes a small monthly response allowance. Paid plans distinguish regular-model access from advanced-model usage, which is metered by compute cost rather than a guaranteed number of replies. Bringing an API key is supported in the extension only.

Before you choose

• Advanced-model response counts are estimates; long conversations and attachments consume more of the compute-based allowance.
• Advanced models stop being available when the monthly allowance is used; paid-plan regular models remain available.
• API-key support is limited to the browser extension. Confirm your model-provider billing before using your own key.
