What it does

Khoj is an open-source personal AI app that answers questions using your own documents and the internet. It reads PDFs, Markdown, Notion, Word documents, and org-mode files, and can chat with local or online language models such as llama3, qwen, mistral, GPT, Claude, and Gemini.

People use it to search across their personal knowledge base, build custom agents with their own knowledge, persona, chat model, and tools, and automate repetitive research so newsletters and notifications arrive in their inbox. It can be reached from a browser, Obsidian, Emacs, desktop, phone, or WhatsApp, and it can generate images and speak responses aloud.

Khoj is AGPL-3.0 licensed and self-hostable, so it can run privately on your own computer or be used through the hosted cloud app at app.khoj.dev with no setup. It suits individual researchers, note-takers, developers, and organizations that want an enterprise deployment as cloud, on-premises, or hybrid. Buyers should confirm cloud plan pricing and limits before committing.
