Meshy
Generate 3D models from text, images or chat for games, printing and design.
- Tool type
- AI 3D model generator
- Made for
- Game devs, artists, makers
- Runs on
- Web app, REST API, MCP
- Plugins for 3D tools are also described in the docs
What it does
Meshy takes a text description, a photo, a sketch or concept art, or a chat conversation, and produces a 3D model with mesh, textures and optional rigging. Output can be exported as GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, USDZ or 3MF, so the same asset can go to a game engine, an AR viewer or a slicer.
People use it in a browser web app organised into modules for images, 3D models, 3D printing, animation, scenes and video, or through a chat-based 3D Agent. Developers can call the same generation features through a REST API or connect AI coding agents via an MCP server. Distinctive features include print-focused output with a printability check and auto-repair, Auto Split into parts, multi-color print support, PBR texturing, low-poly mode, and auto-rigging with preset animations.
It suits game developers, 3D artists, makers and hobbyists, designers and educators who want a starting 3D asset without modelling from scratch. A free plan with 100 monthly credits needs no credit card. Generation is credit-limited, and results often need refinement, so check output against your quality and printing needs before relying on it.

- MakerWorld
Example workflows
- Print a miniature from a sketch
- Input: a sketch or photo of a character. Steps: upload it in Image to 3D, generate the model, run the printability check, use Auto Split if needed. Output: an STL or 3MF file ready to send to a slicer.
- Prototype a game character
- Input: a text description or concept art. Steps: generate the model, apply PBR texturing, set Low Poly, auto-rig and pick a motion preset. Output: an FBX or GLB character for Unity or Unreal.
