Mindee

What it does

Mindee takes in photos, scans, PDFs and handwritten files in any language and returns structured JSON with typed, normalised values. Each extracted field can include a confidence score and bounding-box coordinates showing where it sits on the page. The platform also offers classification, splitting of multi-page files, and edge detection for several documents photographed together.

People mostly use Mindee to pull fields from recurring document types such as invoices, receipts, passports, resumes, bank statements and driver licences, either from prebuilt models or from a custom data schema. Teams can test a model on their own documents in the web platform before writing code, then call the API from an SDK or a no-code connector. The distinguishing point in the pages is determinism and traceability: the same document returns the same result, and each value can be traced back to its location for audit.

Mindee suits finance, accounting, HR and onboarding teams, and developers building document capture into software. Creating a model needs no machine learning expertise, but production use requires basic development skills or a no-code tool. Access needs a platform account and API key, and pricing is credit-based with plans that include credit allowances. Limitations include a credit system where confidence-scored pages cost more, and Enterprise terms are custom.

Before you choose

• Pricing is credit-based: 1 page is 1 credit, and a page with a confidence score costs 1.5 credits.
• Unused credits expire at the end of each subscription period and do not carry over.
• Exceeding the credit allowance triggers automatic charges at the plan unit rate plus a 20% overage surcharge unless you upgrade.

1. Sign up for a Mindee account, then create a model from a catalog template or from scratch.
2. Run at least one Live Test on a sample document and adjust the data schema if results are off.
3. Create an API key in the platform and send a file or URL using an SDK or the command line tools.

Credit-based subscriptions. Starter lists 44/month or 529/year (annual billing saves 10%). Pro lists 116/month or 1393/year. Enterprise is custom pricing on annual contracts with 500,000+ credits minimum. Overage is charged at the plan unit rate plus a 20% surcharge.
