- Tool type
- AI meeting notetaker
- Made for
- Teams, sales, students, recruiters
- Runs on
- Web, desktop, iOS, Android
- Mac (macOS 12.3+), Windows 10+, Chrome extension and mobile apps.
What it does
Otter takes in live or recorded conversations from Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, the Mac and Windows desktop apps, the Chrome extension, mobile apps, and imported audio or video files. It produces live transcripts with speaker identification, summaries with decisions and action items, and a searchable archive. Otter AI Chat answers questions across your meetings and connected apps.
People send the notetaker to scheduled meetings through a calendar, or record bot-free from a desktop or browser. Otter can deliver pre-call briefings from earlier discussions, offer live coaching prompts, and push action items and notes to tools such as Slack, Jira, Asana, Salesforce and HubSpot. It also exposes an MCP server so assistants such as Claude can search meeting knowledge. Meetings can be grouped into shared Channels.
It suits sales teams, students, media teams, recruiters and general business users who sit in many meetings. A free Basic plan needs sign-up; paid plans raise minute limits, meeting length and admin controls, and some features (SSO, API, HIPAA add-on) are Enterprise-only. Free usage is capped at 300 monthly transcription minutes and 30 minutes per conversation, and some integrations carry user limits.
