Overmind
A platform for tracing AI applications, preparing data, evaluating models, and training and serving specialized models.
- Tool type
- AI application observability, evaluation, data preparation, and model training platform
- Made for
- AI engineering teams
- Runs on
- Hosted Console or self-hosted deployment
- The Console is hosted; the platform can also be run on the user's own infrastructure with Docker Compose. CLI, REST API, MCP server, and Python tracing SDK are documented interfaces.

Overmind launches on Product Hunt for coding agents
“Overmind is live on Product Hunt! 🚀 Some big companies have trained their own models this year. That took an ML team. Most companies don't have one. They do have coding agents though. So Overmind lets those agents do the ML team's work. Live:”

What it does
Overmind is an AI development and model-training platform for engineering teams working on AI applications and agents. It takes repository context, production traces, or uploaded files and datasets as inputs. Teams can inspect agent executions and failures, turn traces into training or evaluation datasets, and compare prompts or models against real tasks and defined checks. The results include evaluation records, training runs, deployed models, and downloadable weights and checkpoints.
The hosted Console provides a visual view of traces, datasets, evaluations, training progress, and deployments. Overmind also connects to coding agents through MCP, with a CLI for repository and local-file work; a Python tracing SDK and REST API are available. Users can fine-tune open models on their data, then host them on Overmind or run them on their own infrastructure. A free account is available to start, while training, inference, evaluation, and optimizer runs consume credits. Self-hosting is also offered, but requires configuring infrastructure and service credentials; repository evidence lists dependencies for training and serving. The platform code uses AGPL-3.0, while the SDK and CLI use MIT licenses; self-hosted operation still requires configured external services.
What it can do
- Trace and inspect agent executions, failures, quality, latency, and model usage
- Prepare versioned training and evaluation datasets from production traces or uploaded files
- Evaluate outputs against explicit checks and compare models or prompt and code changes
- Fine-tune language or decision models using custom data
- Deploy models and call them through an OpenAI-compatible API
- Inspect training progress and download model weights and checkpoints
Works with
- MCP-compatible coding agents, including Cursor, Claude Code, OpenCode, and Codex
- OpenTelemetry traces
- Langfuse
- LangSmith
- Braintrust
- Galileo
- OpenAI-compatible API
Before you choose
- Free includes one seat per project and a one-time $50 credit; compute-consuming training, inference, evaluation, and optimizer runs use credits.
- Hosted model training and serving require compute credits; users may instead download weights and checkpoints to serve on their own infrastructure.
- Self-hosting requires configuring service credentials and dependencies; the repository documents Modal, AWS, model-provider, and other setup requirements for relevant functions.

Get started
The official site offers a free account and links the start action to the Console.
- Create an account in the Overmind Console and choose a project.
- Connect a coding agent through MCP, or use the CLI and Python tracing SDK; supply a repository, production traces, or a dataset.
- Prepare data and run an evaluation or training job; check the expected cost before launching training.
Plans and prices
Free includes one seat per project and a one-time credit grant. Pro includes unlimited seats and recurring monthly credits. Unused credits do not expire; additional credits can be added. Training and serving prices vary by model. Enterprise uses custom usage contracts.
