What it does
Pieces runs in the background on your computer and builds a searchable memory of your work. By default it captures what you see in the focused application and what you copy and paste; audio from meetings and conversations is opt-in only. Activity from apps such as Gmail, Slack, Chrome, Google Docs, Notion, Figma, Zoom, and AI chat tools is arranged as a chronological timeline you can search, filter, and revisit by time, topic, person, or tool.
People use Pieces to find that article from three days ago, trace a research trail back to a decision, or generate standup updates, morning briefs, meeting prep, and day recaps from real context. The Pieces MCP Server carries your captured history into Claude, Cursor, Codex, Antigravity, and other MCP-ready assistants.
Memories are saved on-device by default. You can pause capture, disable specific apps or websites, and delete data by time, app, website, or capture method. Individuals start with Pro, and Enterprise adds org-wide capture policies and approved AI providers for teams. Opening the app prompts you to select a plan; Pieces is not free to use.
