What it does
QuillBot takes in text you type, paste or upload as a DOCX or TXT file and returns a rewritten version that keeps the original meaning. The Paraphraser highlights changed words so you can see what moved. Related tools listed on the site include a grammar checker, plagiarism checker, AI detector, humanizer, summarizer, translator, citation generator and AI chat.
In the Paraphraser you pick a mode, such as Standard or Fluency for free use, or Formal, Academic, Simple, Expand, Shorten, Humanizer and Custom with Premium. You can click Rephrase for new variations, then copy or export the result. Fluency makes the fewest changes, while Creative may slightly alter meaning. Premium adds a side-by-side mode comparison and limited paraphrase history.
It suits students, academic writers and professionals who want to polish or reshape their own drafts. Free use runs in the browser, with limited daily paraphrases and a 100-word cap per run; most modes need Premium. Because Creative mode can change meaning, review outputs before submitting work, and check any course or workplace rules on AI assistance.
