Siri
Apple's conversational assistant, built into iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch and Vision Pro
- Tool type
- Built-in AI assistant (beta)
- Made for
- Apple device owners
- Runs on
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, Vision Pro
- The expanded language rollout is in iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2.
What it does
Siri AI takes typed or spoken requests, plus context from your messages, mail, calendar, notes, reminders, photos and whatever is on your screen. It returns answers, written drafts and edits, and actions carried out inside apps, such as sending messages or creating events. It can also use the web for up-to-date information. It is a new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence.
People use it by asking questions, searching their own content, or having Siri write and revise text almost anywhere they type. Visual Intelligence lets you point the camera or select screen content to look things up or act on it. A dedicated Siri app syncs conversation history through iCloud, so a conversation started on iPhone can continue on Mac, iPad, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro. What sets it apart is that it is built into the operating system and works from personal device context.
It suits people using supported Apple hardware who want an assistant tied to their own apps and data. Apple’s October 26 announcement expands the beta to English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish with operating-system version 27.2. Access still depends on compatible hardware and account region, and Apple’s support instructions describe a Settings waitlist. Siri AI is not available on iOS, iPadOS or watchOS in the EU or for mainland China accounts. Additional announced languages are planned rather than currently available.
