Superwhisper

What it does

Superwhisper takes speech from your microphone and turns it into text in the app you are using, such as Slack, Gmail, Cursor, or Notion. Depending on the mode you choose, it returns plain transcription, formatted messages or emails, or text rewritten with an AI model. On macOS it can also record meetings in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Slack and produce a speaker-labeled transcript with a summary of decisions and action items, without adding a bot to the call.

People use it to dictate messages, draft emails, write notes, and dictate instructions to coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Built-in modes handle tone and structure, custom modes let you write your own AI instructions, and a vocabulary list keeps names and terms accurate. Local voice models transcribe offline, and with local models nothing you say leaves the device.

Superwhisper suits people who write across many apps and want fast dictation on Mac, Windows, iPhone, or Android. Input: spoken description of a code change. Steps: connect Claude Code or Cursor, dictate the change when the agent asks for input. Output: the spoken request is delivered to the agent as text.

• Offline AI formatting requires the local S1-mini model in Message or Mail mode; other AI processing needs the internet.
• Meeting recording is available on macOS only.
• Intel Macs work best with cloud models; offline models run well only on Apple Silicon.
