What it does

Vanna is an open-source SQL agent that connects language models to databases. It lets users ask questions in natural language, follow up across turns and work with data from supported systems of record. Developers choose the model provider and database, then configure the agent for their application and access requirements.

The core framework can be self-hosted, while optional hosted administration provides access control, observability, agent memory, file storage and audit logs. Cloud plans use daily question allowances, which reset every 24 hours; higher plans add setup support and enterprise deployment options. Vanna is useful for making a database accessible to people who do not write SQL. Test generated queries and permissions against the intended data scope before exposing the agent to users.
