What it does

ZenML is an open-source Python framework for orchestrating machine-learning pipelines and AI agents. Teams define steps, pass typed artifacts between them and run the same workflow locally or on infrastructure such as Kubernetes, Vertex AI or SageMaker. It versions results and reuses cached steps when code and inputs have not changed, making experiments easier to compare and resume.

The framework connects to a team’s orchestrator, artifact store, experiment tracker and model registry. It is useful when model training, evaluation and agent execution need shared execution records rather than separate scripts. The Apache 2.0 project can run without a ZenML account. Hosted plans add managed services and the provider’s AI engineer; infrastructure and model-provider costs remain separate from the software license or subscription.
