What it does

DeepSeek is a conversational AI assistant for asking questions, drafting text and discussing uploaded documents. The mobile app combines chat with web search, a reasoning mode and file upload with text extraction. It turns a question or document into a conversational response that you can refine with follow-up questions.

For example, a student can upload reading material and ask for a summary, then explore unfamiliar concepts in the same conversation. Someone researching a changing topic can enable web search to bring outside information into the answer. Chat history syncs across devices after signing in with an email address, Google account or Apple ID.

The official app is available on iOS and Android and is described as free, without ads or in-app purchases.
