What it does
Agent Runners lets you describe a task in a prompt, such as a bug fix, a new page, a content update, or a configuration change, and have an AI coding agent carry it out inside your Netlify project. You choose from Claude, Gemini, Codex, or OpenCode, and the agent works with your code, environment variables, build settings, and deployment pipeline. The output is a Deploy Preview you can review before anything reaches your live site, with one-click rollback available.
People use it to prototype apps, build internal dashboards and admin tools, and push fixes without pulling engineers off other work. Its distinguishing feature is that the agent runs on production-matching infrastructure, so it can wire up serverless functions, auth, or forms with project context from the first prompt. Access to an organization's roles, change history, and audit logs follows the same controls used for deployments.
It suits teams and builders who already host on Netlify and want AI-driven changes reviewed in preview first. Agent Runs draw on Netlify credits, and concurrent agent run limits depend on the plan, with 10 concurrent runs on lower tiers and 50 on Enterprise. New credit-based accounts start projects private by default. Pricing for AI model usage follows the cost of the chosen model, so costs can vary with usage.
What it can do
- Start a project or change an existing one from a single natural-language prompt
- Choose between Claude, Gemini, Codex, and OpenCode agents without managing API keys
- Review every change in a Deploy Preview before it reaches the live site
- Roll back to any previous version in one click
- Track who prompted which change and when, with audit logs
- Run agents in isolated environments that do not access secrets
Works with
- Git workflow integration
Before you choose
- New credit-based accounts start projects private; publishing is a separate choice.
- Concurrent agent run limits and credit allowances vary by plan.
- AI model inference is billed at the cost of the selected model, so spend varies with usage.
