What it does
Ellie Docs takes in a connected GitHub repository and your existing help content, from Intercom, Zendesk, GitBook or Notion. It reads the code, runs your app in a sandbox to capture logged-in screenshots, and produces draft help articles, an API reference, and a changelog drafted from merged pull requests. Every draft is an editable draft that you review before anything goes live.
People use it to replace the manual work of writing and updating documentation. After each merged PR, Ellie checks the code against published articles, flags stale ones with evidence and drafts a fix. Ask AI on the help centre answers customers only from published docs. Articles and API details link back to the code they came from, and Ellie says drafts are checked against the code before you see them.
It suits product teams with a live app that want a maintained help centre without writing it by hand, including apps built with Lovable, Bolt or v0 if the code is on GitHub. Sign-up works with Google, Microsoft or email, and GitHub is needed only to connect a repo. The free plan includes a first draft, 50 AI answers a month and a changelog page; paid plans start at $39 a month billed yearly. Limitations: AI answers are capped by plan, and drafts still need your review before publishing.
