Vibe

What it does

Vibe is Mistral's assistant and agent for work and code, and it replaces Le Chat. You give it a plain-language request, plus files such as PDFs, images, CSVs, spreadsheets and Office documents, or connected sources such as email, calendar and databases. It returns briefings, sourced research, documents, spreadsheets, slides, images, and code changes. Voice input is supported through Voxtral.

On the work side, people use it to catch up across email, chat and calendar, prepare meeting briefs, run deep research, and draft deliverables. It can also package multi-step processes into reusable agents or scheduled tasks. On the code side, it writes, tests and refactors across a codebase from a terminal CLI, VS Code, JetBrains or Zed, or on the web. Remote agents work in isolated sandboxes, and sessions can be handed back to the local CLI. It connects to 100+ tools and supports custom MCP servers.

Vibe suits individuals, developers, teams and enterprises, with a free tier for trying it out. Free usage is limited, and agents, long-horizon tasks and all-day coding need a paid plan. Pro and Team usage is subject to fair-use limits. Connectors and custom MCP connectors are labelled beta. On-premises deployment, fine-tuning through Mistral Forge, audit logs and SAML SSO are enterprise features.

Example workflows

Prepare for a client meeting

Input: a calendar event plus connected email and internal docs. Steps: connect the sources, ask Vibe for a brief on the next meeting, review the attendee context and talking points. Output: a one-page meeting brief.

Hand off overnight coding

Input: a feature request and a connected GitHub or GitLab repo. Steps: start a remote coding agent from a prompt, let it write and test code in a sandbox, then teleport the session back to the local CLI. Output: a pull request with tests.

3. For coding, install the Vibe CLI from your terminal or add the IDE plugin.
