What it does
Second Opinion 3D takes in dental CBCT scans, which upload automatically to Pearl's cloud-based portal. It segments key oral and maxillofacial anatomy, including the inferior alveolar canal, maxillary sinus, airway, mandible and individual teeth, and presents them as color-coded 3D structures with an interactive viewer for rotating, zooming, measuring and adjusting opacity. AI pathology detection flags findings such as TMD, carotid calcifications, impactions, periapical radiolucency and sinus radiopacities.
Clinicians use it for new patient conversations, implant and surgical planning, airway and endodontic review, and chairside case presentation. Its distinct features are a one-click referral to a licensed oral and maxillofacial radiologist from within the platform, and conversion of relevant 3D findings into 2D images that insurers can review for claims.
It suits dentists, hygienists and practice staff who handle CBCT imaging, including multi-location groups. Pathology detection is currently available only in Canada, with other regional clearances pending. Pricing, trial terms and hardware compatibility should be confirmed directly with Pearl before adopting it.
