- Desktop is documented for macOS and Windows only; also available in Snowsight and as a terminal CLI.
What it does
You give Snowflake CoCo a request in plain language, such as building a data pipeline, writing SQL, or exploring a dataset. It reads the context it is allowed to see, including your catalog, lineage, and role-based permissions, then produces code or actions that reference real objects in your Snowflake account. Results appear as generated SQL, notebook code, file edits, or task output; users can review edits and configure permissions and approval.
People use CoCo for data engineering, analytics, machine learning pipelines, and building agents on Snowflake data. It is offered as a Desktop app for macOS and Windows, a terminal CLI, and an assistant inside Snowsight workspaces and notebooks. Its distinguishing feature is that it works from your Snowflake governance and permissions instead of generic code suggestions, and it supports MCP and ACP connections to outside tools.
CoCo suits data engineers, analysts, and developers already working in Snowflake who need agentic help with governed data. Access requires a Snowflake account, with sign-up available for individual trials. Usage is billed on token consumption for existing accounts, and standard Snowflake compute and storage costs are billed separately. Check individual plan terms for the subscription amount. Account eligibility depends on enabled features such as cross-region inference, and the SDK remains in preview.
